The Raven is the most well known of Poe's tales and was published in 1845. At the time, Poe was struggling to make a living. The Murders in the Rue Morgue was written in 1841, not long after The Fall of the House of Usher. Annabel Lee was written later in his life and Poe's wife Virginia was said to be his inspiration. Another one of his many poems is Eldorado, which he wrote in 1849, near his death. Two of his more famous tales would be The Tell Tale Heart and The Cask of Amontillado. The Tell Tale Heart was written in 1842 while The Cask of Amontillado was written in 1846. Both are very well known today. Lastly, the Masque of the Red Death was written and published in 1842. All of these works are just a handful of Poe's vast amount of literature that he composed during his short life.
